What Makes Redhead Marketing & PR The Anti-Agency
As the anti-agency, Redhead Marketing & PR can roll up our sleeves and get to work quickly and effectively like no large, traditional agency can. I’ve seen agencies that can’t even accommodate a new business meeting for two weeks after initial contact. And then they take several more weeks to get prospective clients a proposal. Once engaged, they drag out the ramp up period, during which they assign junior staff to your account. Their processes and layers can quickly become frustrating. It’s like trying to steer an enormous ship against a riding tide.
Examples of how we are different by design:
1) A client gave us two weeks notice to do a PR campaign for an event they are hosting. There is Thanksgiving followed by a 10-day trip to Europe between now and their event, but we still took it on and will hustle. While others would have rejected the work and challenge, we met with them about it the same day and delivered a press release within three hours. Will they miss some media opportunities with this shortened timeline? Most likely. I was transparent and explained this. Not one to set myself up for failure, I set expectations and expressed confidence that we can still drum up some awareness through media and influencers. And the next morning we secured the first media placement before the press release was even finalized.
2) Despite November being one of our busiest months, we had three new business meetings last week. Each one received a customized PR proposal within 2 to 4 business days.
3) We pitched two clients to a reporter with a one-hour deadline for a national media outlet. Many PR pros would have rejected this opportunity to get their clients press because of the tight deadline. Instead, we dropped everything and contacted two clients to see if they could quickly answer her questions. They did, and we made her deadline!
Would I prefer more lead time for projects? Hell, yes. But can I make it work? Almost always. Will I bitch to my husband about it when dinner ends up being a work break? A little bit.
Being nimble, responsive, and a part of our clients’ teams allows us to make things happen. Sometimes it’s a sprint and not a marathon. And I still find time to hike the dog.
Have a look at all the earned media we have secured for our clients…some of which with little notice!
