BURT BROTHERS TIRE & SERVICE INC. PARTNERS WITH MAKE-A-WISH UTAH TO ANNOUNCE 11-YEAR-OLD UTAH BOY’S WISH DURING SALT LAKE BEES GAME
In 2024, Burt Brothers will donate more than $150,000 to community partnerships, including Make-A-Wish Utah.
Utah auto care company Burt Brothers Tire & Service Inc. is helping Make-A-Wish Utah grant wishes for Utah wish kids, like 11-year-old Layton resident Kash. Kash has wished to go to Atlantis Paradise Island in The Bahamas. More than 500 Burt Brothers staff and their family members will attend the Salt Lake Bees’ minor league baseball game on August 23rd in support of Kash, where they will introduce him and surprise him with the news that his wish will be granted. The team will also help the young baseball fan throw the first pitch of the game against the Texas Round Rock Express. Following the game, Burt Brothers will kick off a two-month donation drive in their 26 store locations throughout Utah for Make-A-Wish Utah, featuring Kash’s story.
“We are honored as a Burt Brothers family to do everything in our power to make wishes like Kash’s come true,” said Burt Brothers CEO Brian Maciak. “Giving back to the community is at the forefront of our mission as a company, and having the ability to make a positive impact on a local child means the world to us. Given Kash’s love for baseball, it seemed a Salt Lake Bees game was the perfect way to launch this campaign and let the community know how they can help us grant life-changing wishes like Kash’s across the entire state. Having our team turn out at the game will be a huge show of support.”
Kash has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and is undergoing intense treatments. Outside of his time in the hospital, he loves to show off his athleticism playing baseball, basketball and football. Kash’s mom describes him as a ‘friend magnet,’ who is easygoing and makes friends very easily. He enjoys hanging out with his two older sisters and friends from his hometown of Layton, Utah, where he attends Sand Springs Elementary.
With a deep belief in Make-A-Wish Utah’s mission and its efforts to serve families across the state, Burt Brothers has been partnering with Make-A-Wish Utah since 2021.
“Make-A-Wish Utah is a Utah organization, raising funds in Utah to grant wishes for Utah’s kids. Wishes don’t come true by chance or by luck; wishes happen because community members and organizations like Burt Brothers Tire and Service choose to make them possible,” explains Daniel Dudley, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish Utah. “We are proud and grateful for the partnership of Burt Brothers Tire and Service and encourage everyone to support this incredible campaign to bring hope to kids when they need it most.”
